Who We Are

At times when you may come to a place where things have become difficult, overwhelming or it seems like control over a situation has been lost. Counselling can help to bridge the gap to discovering new pathways or strategies in coping with lifes struggles.

Each counselling relationship is unique and it is important for both of us to have an understanding of the issues to be discussed. This process involves confidentiality, trust and non-judgement. It may be a short term relationship or long term depending on your needs and goals.

We are a collective of counsellors from varying backgrounds and cultures that offer therapeutic ways of working with many diverse issues. We care and collaborate with you and others to support better, healthy or positive outcomes.

What We Do

It is helpful to get to know you as we sift through the issues, so that we can plan and find the best approach that will be a benefit for you in receiving counselling.  The way in which we work depends on what will work for you.  Counselling can be a blend of talking and creative therapies which can be insightful to both of us.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Helps to address negative patterns and distorted views of the way we look at ourselves and the world.

Cognitive:  Explores how negative thoughts contribute to our functioning.

Behavior:  Explores how we behave and react in situations.

Narrative Therapy

We all understand and live our lives through stories. We explore the problem and put it out there to examine. By mapping out the problem and discovering how this influences the person we can find meaning to what is threaded through our lives.

Narrative therapy can restore and transform a new story in life.

Creative Therapies

At times when verbally expressing how you feel about a situation is difficult, creative ways of working can be helpful in bringing awareness and insight. This can include art therapy, sand-tray work, miniature figures & objects.

You do not have to be skilled in being creative it just involves you being able to trust in the process and the skill of the therapist.

Child Centred Play Therapy

Children are natural at play and utilising this therapy is specialised to help with life issues.  It focuses on the four tasks of play:

  • Relationship building / Exploratory
  • Aggressive / Testing for Protection
  • Regressive / Expressive / Dependency
  • Mastery & Growth
